2. Teaching Steps

T: Look at Superkids. This is Peter. This is Beth….

  And they are their friends. Where are the Superkids? They are at a park.They are very happy. They are having fun.

  Today, we’ll learn Unit 4 Having Fun

  (T writes the title on Bb and leads Ss to read it.)

 

T: Fun means happy. Let’s look what are they doing? Look at Mojo. Mojo is swimming. But look carefully. Can he swim?

Ss: No.

T: Look at Chip. Can he swim?

Ss: Yes.

( T leads Ss to practice swim by team.)

T: Can you swim?

S: Yes, I can. No, I can’t.

( Ss practice the dialogue.)

 

T: This is Peter. This is Beth. They skate.

 (Have Ss listen the word three times and read it one by one.)

T: XXX, can you skate?

S: Yes, I can./No, I can’t.

T: How about this one? Can you skateboard?

 (Have Ss read skateboard row by row.)

T: Look at him. He is superkids’ friend. He can skateboard very well.

  Look at her. She can__.

Ss: fly a kite.

 (Have Ss read kite at first, then read the phrase.)

 

Game: I say you point

       I say you do

 

T: Wonderful. Look at this boy. He can draw.

  (T draws a bug, a cat on the Bb and leads Ss to read it.)

 

T: Can you tell me what’s this?

  (Ss read bike together.)

T: Look at Donny and Toni. Can Toni ride a bike?

  (Game: high—low)

 

T: Look at the girl. She can juggle.

  (Game: Blow balloon)
